As Manager, you will play a leadership role on our Schools, Talent, and Racial Equity grantmaking team by leading due diligence, making grant recommendations, and providing tailored ongoing strategic assistance to the entrepreneurs and organizations in our portfolio. In addition, you will work with us on our grantmaking strategy, ongoing performance analysis, and network-building events focused on creating a strong community of visionary education leaders.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading Due Diligence on Prospective Grants. Lead due diligence on prospective grantees, including assessing performance and business plans against our grantmaking criteria and conducting market research.
Synthesize findings through rigorous written analysis to inform recommendation.
Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including analysis and forecasting of school academic performance, financial modeling, program evaluation, and organizational health.
Providing Management Assistance and Support to Grantees. Support grantees by helping to identify priorities, providing guidance on key strategic issues (e.g., financial model, fundraising, organizational structure, growth plans), connecting grantees to resources, and/or supporting governance as a board observer.
Lead internal and external meetings with grantees and other key stakeholders.
Organize network events to foster collaboration and innovation among entrepreneurs and organizations.
Facilitating Knowledge Sharing and Team Leadership.
Develop polished materials that synthesize analyses for a variety of internal and external stakeholders, such as reporting to donors.
Develop and refine internal grantmaking team-specific project management and systems management.
Represent Ed Forward DC and Schools and Talent team at education events.
Support and develop other team members.
